The Nicklaus designed World Cup Course - Mission Hills, China
Can you imagine having the choice of playing 10 different golf courses, at the one resort? Even better, in 2007 Mission Hills will have 12 courses - yes, 260 holes!

The founders of Mission Hills Golf & Country Club in Schenzen in China, went to 10 of the world's best golfers and asked them to design a course for them. Nicklaus, Norman, Els, Duval, Singh, Sorenstam, Olazabel, Ozaki, Leadbetter and Faldo have all added their mark to this corner of China, resulting in one of the most exciting complexes in the world. Mission Hills has also been awarded the Guiness Book of Records for the world's largest golf complex - surpassing Pinehurst!

Each course at Mission Hills has it's own distinctive characteristics, reflecting on the 10 legends of the game, representing five continents, and whose names adorn the local landscape.

Need to hone your skills a bit? Try out the 64 Bay floodlit Driving Range. And if you want a change from golf, you could always have a game of tennis on one of the 51 courts. Then, at the end of a tiring day, you could enjoy a massage at the Mission Hills Spa. What a way to go!

Come and share the vision with Golfing Holidays - Worldwide! Let us turn your golfing dreams into reality.

Here is a run-down on all the different courses:
The Greg Norman Course - Mission Hills, China Greg Norman Course - Mission Hills, China
The Norman Course at Mission Hills in Shenzhen, China, was named one of the Ten Best International Courses of 2004 by Travel + Leisure Golf magazine. The Norman Course opened in May 2004 when The Great White Shark visited Mission Hills to play in the ceremonial grand opening round.
The Norman Course is the 10th layout to open at what is now the world's largest golf complex. It is already acclaimed as one of the most challenging 18-hole layouts in Asia. The more open front nine traverses ridges and hugs hillsides whilst the tighter back nine runs up and back down two deep valley floors whose steep forested slopes create a stunning setting for golf.
An expert in golf course design and involved in the design of 43 golf courses around the world, Greg Norman is skilled at creating courses with a high level of difficulty. Courses usually feature an average slope rating between 120 and 130, but Greg Norman's course at Mission Hills would be over 140, making it the most difficult and challenging course in Asia.
Appropriately labelled the "Tournament Course", Greg Norman's course is dominated by numerous high-flashed bunker faces accented by bright white sand. The front nine holes meander through numerous small valleys, while the back nine holes are set in a much larger single valley surrounded by steep slopes. Pinpoint accuracy on the tee shot becomes a priority as golfers are faced with narrow fairways surrounded by tall native grasses in the long rough, and dense forest vegetation on the upper slopes. Those fond of getting close to nature will appreciate the enjoyable yet rugged environment that has been so skillfully crafted along this course.
Jack Nicklaus - World Cup Course - Mission Hills, China
Venue of the 41st World Cup of Golf in 1995, this masterpiece by legendary golf champion Jack Nicklaus is revered throughout the world as the most magnificent golfing challenge in Asia."It is a really great course". claimed Jesper Parnevik, who made a hole-in-one on the 15th hole during the World Cup.
This famous course was the first in China to be accredited by the US PGA Tour for major professional competitions. The signature 16th hole is renowned as a classic in course architecture.
Vijay Singh Course - Mission Hills, China Vijay Singh Course - Mission Hills, China
Vijay introduces a 150-yard beach bunker - a visually striking feature in which great stretches of sand run along, and right down, into the water. Vijay skillfully incorporates the Pebble Beach 18 hole design into the course, which makes the course the most spectacular in Asia.

The Vijay Singh Course is unique and dramatic, and offers players visual images that China has never seen.
The Ernie Els Course - Mission Hills, China Ernie Els Course - Mission Hills, China
The theme of the Els Course overall landscape is to create a lush look of dense trees, wide swaths of manicured turf to evoke a feel of maintained gardens, a unique flavour of his South African homeland.
Measuring over 7,000 yards, the Els Course is a unique core layout, as opposed to corridors. Invigorating is the 4th tee, sitting atop the highest point of the course, with commanding panoramic views of Mission Hills and the outlying properties
The Annika Sorenstam Course - Mission Hills, China
The first course in the world designed by Annika Sorenstam is located at Mission Hills, China. Her course showcases Annika's best talent: precision. Playing on Annika's course requires extreme accuracy on the golfer's part. The course has spectacular views of the natural terrain and mountains which rise more than 100 meters above the golf course. The dramatic elevations throughout this course provide numerous panoramic tee shots perched high above spacious fairways that meander through the valleys. Well-manicured landscaping dominates the perimeters of both tee and green, creating an aesthetically appealing "botanical" atmosphere. The 465-yard 18th hole, located next to a large natural lake, provides a classic signature-finishing hole.
The Nick Faldo Course - Mission Hills, China The Nick Faldo Course - Mission Hills, China
Opened in early 1999 to great critical acclaim from the international media, the Faldo Course is destined to become Asia's premier tournament venue. One of the world's toughest island greens is the 16th, the ultimate in target golf.
Nick Faldo has used his outstanding shot-making skills to design an extremely challenging course for major professional championships. Every hole is highly strategic yet eminently playable.
"Not only is Mission Hills establishing itself as the greatest club in Asia, but I feel confident that this course will soon be recognized as one of the world's most spectacular golfing challenges." states Faldo.
The David Duval Course - Mission Hills, China
The David Duval Course at Mission Hills features numerous water hazards, deep groundcover and a mixture of long, short and double dogleg holes, providing a unique challenge for any golfer.
The course is designed in such a way that half of the course is situated on an uphill slope and the other half on a downhill slope. The first half of this course works its way up to a secluded natural valley in the most northeastern part of the site, and the finishing holes work back down to the spacious clubhouse setting. A stream meanders throughout many of the holes, forcing players to accurately place their shots to avoid this natural water hazard. Deep, flat bottom bunkers surround many of the playable areas, collecting errant tee shots and approach shots to the green. Deep green groundcovers and large leafy trees mirror the natural setting of a lush tropical environment, resulting in a memorable golfing experience for players of all levels
The Jose Maria Olazabel Course - Mission Hills, China
Jose Maria Olazabal's course at Mission Hills is his first in China. The design philosophy behind this course is to create a beautiful, unique, harmonious and playable course for all golfers. Olazabal's reputation as one of the games best sand players is reflected in his course at Mission Hills. The Olazabal Course is the longest at 7,400 yards and even the best of golfers will find it a challenge, especially when they see the 155 bunkers! Guess he just likes bunkers!
Night golf on the Ozaki Canyon Course, Mission Hills, China The Jumbo Ozaki Course - Mission Hills, China
Jumbo Ozaki has created one of the most picturesque courses in the world at Mission Hills. The Ozaki Course takes full advantage of the dramatic mountain valleys that house each hole. Towering peaks and wooded hillsides line every fairway. The terrain is so mountainous, an 85m tunnel connects the 12th green to the 13th tee.
Every hole gives breathtaking views from elevated tees, and fiercely undulating fairways and greens require extreme accuracy from the golfers. The deepest bunkers in Asia are found on this course. Night golf is also available on the back nine
The David Leadbetter Course - Mission Hills, China
David Leadbetter is captivated by the dynamics of Mission Hills as the World's No. 1 Golf Club and this is his reason for choosing Mission Hills for his first-ever golf course design.
The Leadbetter course reflects his teaching concepts. David Leadbetter designed his course so players will have to use all the clubs in their bags during play from the 1st to the 18th hole. Players are able to test their overall skills and golfing standard.
The Leadbetter Course requires precise approach shots to large undulating greens. A colorful, formal landscape and groundcover create an aesthetically pleasing environment that golfers are sure to remember as a key part of their golfing experience. David Leadbetter's choice of turfgrass species includes paspalum fairways, surrounded by Zoysia grass roughs and imported Tifeagle Hybrid Bermuda grass for a superior quality putting surface.
Large, traditional, sand-flashed bunkers are used to frame the well-contoured fairways throughout the course, while various sets of tees are strategically located on each hole to assure the golfing experience is both enjoyable yet challenging for players of all levels. In this course, David Leadbetter lives up to his promise to bring a rich and rewarding learning experience to every golfer's game.
